Travel: Agave Mexican Cantina [Sky Garden] - Closed

14 July 2009 --- I had the chance to dine at Agave Mexican Cantina which was nicely located at the Sky Garden of SM North EDSA.  Lo, Bebe and I spent long hours inside SM North EDSA going from one boutique to another, starting at The Block then to the City Center then finally The Annex.  Considered as one of the largest malls in the Philippines and even in the world, dining at Agave was a delight after a tiresome but awesome shopping day.

With hopes of flying back to the Philippines sometime in 2013 [if the schedule allows], we’re definitely looking forward to visiting Agave again.  Unfortunately, the Mexican cantina has closed down for reasons I am not aware of.  *sigh*

Awesome prices!

I ordered their Burger a la Mexicana Php 285 and a cup of their Mexican Hot Chocolate Php 75

Bebe and Lo ordered Agave’s Plato Supremo Familia Php 1190 and was amazed with how huge the plate was!

The guys also grabbed Agave’s Bucket of 6 Beers to end the night.  For all these, we only paid something below Php2,000 --- a great deal!  We even went home with a couple of doggie bags.  Lovely!

Although Agave at the Sky Garden does not exist anymore, it’s a good thing that Agave can still satisfy our cravings!  They have 3 beautiful branches at Eastwood City Walk 1 [Quezon City], Bonifacio High Street [Taguig City] and Tomas Morato [Quezon City].  Still, these three branches are not far from my mom’s in Bulacan and my dad’s in Quezon City.

How about you?  Have you been to Agave Mexican Cantina?  Which branch?  Love it?  Hate it?

It’s Delicious to Live in Colorado!

A classmate from grade school [I love this girl to bits!] who now resides in Colorado looks forward to that day when Bebe and I get the chance to visit her lovely place.  She’s shown me photos and man … if given the chance, I’ll take a look at homes in Colorado and buy one.  Just looking at those Boulder real estate markets and neighborhoods make me sing: “I want to be a billionaire, so freakin’ bad!”.

Aside from the awesome people, perfect summer months, gorgeous scenery [magnificent rocky mountains, baby!] and winter’s fluffy white snow, my friend also shares with me photos showing how delicious it is to live in Colorado.  Food food food!  Who does not love to eat?

Although buying a house or a condo unit is something Bebe and I can’t afford yet at the moment, we start by dreaming of having one!  Whether a home in Colorado, here in Sweden or back in the Philippines, we always dream of getting a unit that is only a few meters away from restaurants and bakeshops.  Oh. As a culinary student, I so love good food within reach!

How about you?  Do you live in a “delish” city or state?  Where and what are your favorite restaurants?

Essential Vitamins to Avoid Hair Loss

I’ve given it a thought a hundred and one times.  I will not think twice about shaving my head if it’s an option of getting ahead of the pack in a race just like that of The Amazing Race.  I love that show to bits that I’ve seen all the episodes of every season.  My hair will just grow back anyway so why hold back?

So okay, I’ll be fine about having my head shaved for a very good reason but to suffer from hair loss is a totally different thing.  Hair loss especially in women can be agonizing.  I’ve suffered from hair fall due to so much stress in school, panicked a lot which has resulted to further damage.  The experience has been a torture.  It has taken me weeks before deciding on meeting my dermatologist [again].  A series of tests has been performed, results analyzed and finally has been handed a bottle of hair loss pills.  Hair loss products come to the rescue and I am so glad that I’ve given them a try.

I’ve also been informed about the essential vitamins I can get from meat and several fruits and vegetables to help me avoid further excessive hair fall in the future.  Here are a few of them:

hairlossveggies

1.]  Iron rich food --- pork/chicken liver, clam, oyster, cuttlefish, kidney beans, chickpeas, black beans, spinach, passion-fruit, currants
--- lack of iron may result to fatigue, mental decline, anemia and stress.
2.]  Vitamin B [pyridoxine] rich food --- chicken, turkey, beef, pork, tuna, salmon, halibut, bell peppers, baked potatoes, green peas, sunflower seeds, cashews, hazelnuts
--- strengthens hair follicles, helps to lower stress, treat depression, lower cholesterol level just to name a few.
3.] Vitamin A rich food --- liver, dried apricots, milk, egg yolks, carrots, cantaloupe, mangoes
--- helps in repairing of body tissues and helps maintain healthy skin.
4.] Zinc --- oysters, veal liver, sesame seeds, roasted pumpkin, dark chocolate, cocoa powder, peanuts, lamb
--- is responsible in keeping the immune system healthy and contributes to the quality of hair and skin

If you are suffering from hair loss and want to try to reverse the process, make sure to have enough intake of the vitamins mentioned above.  If you have a busy schedule and want all on the list on-the-go then get hold of one of the best hair loss products out there.  I am sure that there’s one designed for you!
