Wish List: Orlando Florida For Two Weeks Plus Good Food

I have never been to the USA but I have this feeling that I will be traveling there sometime soon with Bebe.  This land of opportunity [as most people call it] has always been in my top ten places to visit since I can’t remember when exactly.  Due to the fact that my homeland, the Philippines was colonized by the US from 1898 to 1946 as a result of the Spanish American war, it is a dream to one day stay for at least two weeks in the nation which influenced a number of Filipino customs, food and traditions.

Las Vegas, New York or Orlando?

While thinking ahead, it is likely to happen that Bebe and I will be Visiting America in the Spring season of 2014.  Although our hearts are torn between Orlando and New York, Las Vegas keeps on popping onto the scene.  If I am to choose, I’ll pick Orlando in a heartbeat .  I mean, I have never been to Walt Disney World and the child in me wants to discover its different theme parks.

Oh.  Are you aware that there’s this Receive Five Days for the Price of Three promotional offer?  Yes!  You get a couple of days for free at Walt Disney World so forget not to check their website or contact your travel agency for more information.  If lucky, there will be deals like this by the time we’re there.  We’re crossings our fingers really tight on this one!

The food scene:

Because we are considering a two-week stay [at least] in whichever city we choose, food is going to be a big part of the vacation.  I enjoy good food!  Who doesn’t?  Lee and Ricks Oyster Bar and Seafood House is highly recommended by first time tourists of the area and of course the restaurant’s regular customers.  I am not a huge fan of oysters but I’ll definitely check the place out.  Bebe might be interested in giving oysters a shot while I’ll order the mussel basket served with corn and hot butter.  Add a plate of their Alaskan Snow Crab! Sounds good to me!

I’ve also read somewhere about the famous Rock Shrimp selection at the Dixie Crossroads Restaurant.  Shrimps – love ‘em!

How about you?  Have you been to Orland, Florida?  Have you spent days at the Walt Disney World Resort?  Which restaurants would you highly recommend to first time visitors like us?
