Chatting with a bunch of great friends the other week after work, I’ve learned that a couple of my co-workers are planning on migrating to Australia within the second quarter of next year. They’re excited and and the same time nervous about starting anew in a foreign land. Believe me, I know how they’re feeling and what’s going on inside their heads. But just like all things, everything gets better in time.
I, too have once dreamed of flying to Australia – to live and work there. Because fate has brought me to this lovely land called Sweden, I have made myself a promise to one day travel to Australia with Bebe for a vacation. Like we usually do, we’ll check for flights to Australia online, look for best holiday packages then compare and choose the perfect deal for us.
As a chef, my first to-do in my list is to experience dining in Australia. I fancy to try lamington, pavlova, anzac biscuit and that famous vegemite! I have been warned over and over again about how terrible vegemite tastes but I want to try and judge it myself.

Like any other tourists, we’ll also visit a number of famous restaurants, bars and picnic areas. Picnic --- I so love the sound of it. Picnic at the beach on a lovely sunny day is a fantastic combination of great finger food, sand, sun and swim!
To-visit list:
- The Sydney Opera House
- Sydney Harbour National Park
- Farmers and Weekend Markets [Entertainment Quarter, Moore Park]
- Boomali Aboriginal Art Gallery
- China Town
- Manly Beach
- Campbelltown Go Karts
- Japanese Gardens and Teahouse
- Koala Park Sanctuary
- Sydney Oberservatory
… and fingers crossed, many many more!
How about you? Have you ever been to Australia? If yes, what was your to-eat, to-do and to-visit lists? Will you be flying back to Australia for more?
