Sadly, most weeks of the Swedish summer this year has rained away. Whenever the sun is out, we grab the chance no matter how small it is. After learning the unfriendly July and August weather predictions, those who are in vacation during the summer period have decided to travel to a warmer destination and stay there for a week or two for a real summer experience.
When traveling to another country, what activities do Swedes choose first?
1.] Head to the beach --- Believe it or not, the number one activity Swedes always look forward to is not shopping but spending hours on the beach. While some [women especially] apply best spray tan products on their skins weeks before their vacation, a lot prefer to do it the old fashion way --- beach sunbathing, always a favorite.
2.] Beach picnic --- Food, food, food! When going to the beach with the family or group of friends, picnic always sounds perfect. There are those who order picnic baskets and there are some who fill their baskets on their own. Some even just pay for boxes of pizza and bottles of drinks to bring with them to the beach.

That’s it! Hopefully next year, sometime during the summer season, Bebe and I can travel to a warm country to enjoy days on the beach. We both deserve a lovely summer break. Next year. Next year.
