Never did I imagine that I would one day be able to bake bread! With bakeries scattered everywhere in the Philippines, whenever we craved for newly baked bread, all we needed to do was to run to the nearest bakeshop. Craving – solved!
But then again, nothing beats baking your own bread in your own kitchen, right?
Months back while I was still an intern in a hotel here in Sweden [well… which then later became my workplace *jumping for joy*] my executive and senior chefs taught me a few techniques in bread making. It wasn’t easy at first but after trying a number of recipes at home, I finally was able to get the results I wanted. Soft in the inside, crispy on the outside.
I am planning on baking some cinnamon rolls and frying some doughnuts [definitely all from scratch] this Saturday --- of course, will be baking bread, too! I can already smell the lovely aroma of cinnamon and the luscious scent of the doughnuts. The weekend’s going to be a sweet one!
