After baking, filling and decorating my first Pâte à choux attempt sometime in September of last year, it did not take me a long time to give another choux pastry variety a try. I decided to go for a profiterole experiment which was a thumbs up at once and was then of course succeeded by a few more batches. I so got hooked to profiteroles for awhile because well… they tasted really good!
Profiteroles or cream puffs have this delish textured crunchy shell that is really light in weight. You can fill it up with whatever that comes into mind! You can go for custard, ice cream, jellies, jams, peanut butter and more!
Bebe loves strawberry. So for him, a batch of profiteroles with strawberry cream filling is perfect.

Because I am not a fan of strawberry [ooops!], chocolate cream is what I always opt to when it comes to fillings. Yum!

Oh that first bite! The chocolate cream filling… never fails to make my day a whole lot sweeter!
Staring at these photos makes me drool. I so want a dozen now. I might be baking a batch of these sweet cuties on Sunday. Awww! Can hardly wait to get loads of bites!
How about you? Do you love profiteroles? If you do, what is your favorite filling? Do you bake your own or buy it from your favorite pastry shop?
