Essex, England: My First Wimpy Experience

On our last day in the UK [12 August 2011], Bebe and I were on for a treat, big time!  William, Lo and Mo [the Sibleys - Thank you so very much!  You guys rock!] brought us to a fabulous tourist destination - the Southend-on-Sea in Essex which kept us busy the whole day through.  Fun and so much fun!

At around 4PM, our stomachs were making funny sounds and were rumbling for food so the Sibleys introduced me to Wimpy!  Because it was my first ever Wimpy experience [… and definitely not my last], I was given the chance to order whatever I fancied from the menu.  Bam!  I then opted for Wimpy’s Original Quarterpounder with Cheese and fries plus extra onion rings, Coke on the rocks and for dessert was Vanilla Ice Cream Sundae topped with mango sauce and crunchy waffle biscuits.  Heaven, it was!

William ordered Wimpy’s Brown Derby for dessert which got me intrigued.  I sure wanted one too but my tummy could no longer survive another bite after the sumptuous Vanilla Ice Cream Sundae I got.  Next time, Brown Derby is going to be the target!

Wimpy’s Brown Derby is considered as one of the restaurant’s signature desserts.  It’s a doughnut topped with a generous amount of vanilla ice cream, sprinkled with chocolate sauce and nuts.  It looks so lush, doesn’t it?

How about you?  Have you ever been to Wimpy?  Which one?  How was the dining experience?
